A spiral staircase climbs the six floors of this dramatic red-brick castle. Built for Ralph Cromwell, Lord Treasurer of England between 1434-1447, Tattershall Castle is now in the care of the National Trust. From the battlements, there are magnificent views of the Lincolnshire landscape - and perhaps the thrill of seeing the Lancaster, Hurricanes and Spitfires of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight returning to their base at nearby RAF Coningsby.
