The tallest spire of any medieval parish church in England.

As you cross the Lincolnshire Wolds from Lincoln, look out for your first glimpse of Louth Parish Church soaring above the low hills. This year the parish community celebrate the 500th anniversary of the completion of the church's magnificent spire.  The tower has spectacular views over the maze of ancient narrow lanes and streets below, and the Wolds beyond. It's a tough climb up, but the names and dates carved into the walls of the stone staircase are a welcome distraction.
